Notice of Race for the EOS in Killaloe now published

Notice of race currently being updated will be published tomorrow.

UPDATE FOR EOS CLINIC:

Hi everyone,

Less than 3 weeks to go for our End of Seasons Clinic and Regatta.  The temperatures maybe dropping so it could be a good time to dust of the cobwebs off the dry suits and winter woollies in case they are needed in Killaloe.

Soren has asked me to let you all know that on the first day, rather than splitting everyone on ranking, he will run a number of practice races in the morning, combine the scores and split into groups for day 2.  Sailors will then work with their coach and Soren for the remainder of the clinic and their coach will be their coach for the End of Seasons Regatta.  The main focus of the clinic will be on strategy, tactics and rules for all groups.  Plenty of video will be taken so sailors watch out for the debriefs!

Now what you all need to bring to the clinic:

·         Pencils and a hard back notebook (hard back so if it gets wet it does not fall apart!)

·         Plenty of drinks – not fizzy ideally water.

·         Packed lunch every i.e. roll, fruit, pasta etc

·         Woolly hat and sailing gloves.

·         Warm clothes.  Be prepared to colder weather than summertime sailing

·         Extra lashings – if windy you may loose some

·         Running gear – may be required should coaches decided to do fitness and warm up before sailing each morning.

The University of Limerick Activity Centre will permit you to bring your boats early to the club and I hope to revert in the next few days with confirmation of when they will be able to accept boats on their premises.

Volunteers – yes as always we need volunteers.  Any parent, older sibling or guardians willing to lend a hand it would, as always, be greatly appreciated.   No experience necessary.   Some of the Jobs which require help are (and there maybe more!):

Rescue – can you help with rib for rescue or for coach’s use?

Registration & Race office – can you help with registration from 830 – 930 on Wednesday 2 November, and again at 9:00 – 1030 on Saturday, 5th November.  Race office – help required here during the Regatta re change of sail numbers, protest etc.

Hot Chocolate – are you free at 4:00 for an hour to make hot chocolates for the sailors after sailing.

Race Committee – volunteers required to help on the Committee boat for start & finish

Launching/Retrieving – help required to launch and retrieve oppies before and after each session on the water and during the regatta.

Tally board – as usual help required here.

Please email me at oliveparker69@yahoo.ie or contact me at 087 2664202 if you can help with any of the above jobs.

Thanks,

Olive
