Douglas Elmes wins End of Season Regatta in Killaloe
At the End of Season's the juniors get to test themselves against the seniors as both fleets race together. Indeed this event and the trials are the only events where the gold fleets race together. The silver fleets race together at the Crosbie Cup. So it is always interesting to see who comes out on top.....this time there was an undisputed winner of the Gorman Trophy Douglas Elmes on a mere 10 points after 6 races.
As the vast majority of sailors had also participated in the coaching clinic it gave them a chance to put into practise all that they had learnt.
On Saturday 2 races were sailed in light shifty conditions there were races started that had to be canceled due to inconsistant conditions.
On Sunday 4 races were sailed in near perfect conditions. There was 10 knots of wind and bright blue skies and sunshine.
The top five were as follows with Douggie Elmes leading from the outset.
