New Years Rankings 2010

Every year the senior rankings are revised to take out any retirees. They have now been published in the ranking section of the website. Retirees are those seniors who are either to old to continue sailing an Optimist or who have decided for various reasons to move onto other boats.

The cutoff age for Optimist sailing is 15 so those seniors who would turn 16 this year have been sadly retired from the Optimist Class and we wish them well in their future sailing careers.

Other sailors decide to move on earlier than 15 this can be due to size (try getting under that Oppie boom if you are 6 ft !) or family commitments to other classes again we wish them well.

The January 2010 rankings are used to determine who is to be invited to the 2010 Trials. The first 35 sailors in both the Senior and Junior divisions qualify for an invitation.

The IODAI Committee have decided to grant a special dispensation to sailor Ross O'Sullivan (Junior) on medical grounds.

If any other sailor believes they deserve a similar dispensation they should submit thier case to honsec@iodai.com ASAP for consideration by the committee.
