I am James Spillane. I am 11 years old. I sail in RCYC it was my first time doing the trials. The first day was a good day the second was really light and we managed to get 1 race. The last day was windy I struggled a bit but got good places. I sailed with my best friends Luke Horgan, Patrick Daly, Cathal O`Regan, Tom Keal and Luke McGrath. My Dad bought me an x-charter boat from the worlds my new sail number is 1480. My club RCYC is holding the second leg of the trials. I`m sure my club will do another great job just like the Munster’s. At Lough Derg I stayed in the Abbey Court Hotel Cottages. I really enjoyed the weekend. My brother Ben and sister Eva came with me. They had a great time. They went swimming, cycling, played at the park and they also played basketball. My coaches were Diego, Soren and Ivor. I learnt a lot of stuff in my training with my coaches. Lough Derg was really shifty it’s much different to sailing in my own yacht club. On the light day we drew on each others faces. I really enjoyed the trials it was a great event. I`d like to thank everyone who took part in the event and helped out.
