The Irish Optimist Dinghy Association (IODAI) is delighted to announce the schedule for the highly
anticipated IODAI Sprint Series 2025, a key fixture in this year’s Optimist sailing calendar. Targeted at
gold and silver fleet sailors, the series serves as a vital preparation platform for the Irish Sailing Youth
Nationals (Irish-Sailing-Youth-National-Championships), which will take place at the Royal St George Yacht Club in April.
This year’s Sprint Series will take place over three one-day events at sailing clubs across Ireland:
● Leg One: Royal Cork Yacht Club – 1st March 2025
● Leg Two: Malahide Yacht Club – 22nd March 2025
● Leg Three: Waterford Harbour Sailing Club – 12th April 2025
The format remains consistent, with four competitive races held at each event. These races are designed
to provide participants with valuable race experience in the lead-up to Youth Nationals, the international
team selection event for the Optimist class.
Entries are now open on our events page Events Page. Registration closes on the 16th February 2025. Sailors and clubs are encouraged to secure their spots early to assist race organisers
with preparations.
