Optimist Worlds 2014 Over
The optimist worlds is always a very challenging event and consistency pays off. Swiss sailor Nicolas Rolaz had all top ten results bar one which he used as his discard. 2nd place went to a Thai sailor and 3rd place to a Greek sailor. Interesting to see that Mara Turin from Slovenia won four races but then due to inconsistent results finished 11th overall. Conditions varied from light days to heavy weather sailing, so a good broad range of sailing conditions experienced throughout the event. For Irish sailor Harry Durcan, this event was a fantastic experience but with 3 black flags his event was not reflective of his great ability.
