Optimist Trials 2017 Round Up
Big congratulations to all the amazing sailors who competed in the Optimist Trials 2017 in Ballyhome Yacht Club. It was an eventful 4 days of sailing for all our young Optimist sailors. There were lots of highs and lows for all involved. Everyone who competed did an amazing job representing their families and clubs and should be very proud.
But in the end it came down to 6 sailors receiving Irish Sailing Association (ISA) Medals and these were:
1st Justin Lucas, RCYC & TBSC
2nd Conor Gorman, NYC
3rd Harry Twomey, RCYC & CHSC
4th Johnny Flynn, HYC & R stGYC
5th Luke Turvey, HCY & NYC
First girl went to Emily Riordan of Royal St George Yacht Club
The Race Committee did an outstanding job to make sure the full series of 13 races were completed over the course of the event. A special thank you to OD Harry Gallagher HYC, Ballyholme Yacht Club, ISA and the huge team of volunteers that made this event happen.

Next stop the Munsters in Kinsale Yacht Club on May 13 & 14th. Entry for the Munsters is open now and closes on Wednesday 3rd May.
