Best of luck to IDT Team France!
IDT France 2018
The International Development Team (IDT) France 2018, set off from Dublin Airport, for Bordeaux yesterday.
They were heading to compete in the Optimist French Nationals (CIE Coupe Internationale d’Eté), being held in Loctudy. On the development team is:
- Fiarchra McDonnell (NYC)
- Ben O’Shaughnessy (RCYC)
- Archie Daly (RStGYC)
- Clementine Van Steenberge (NYC)
- Patrick Bruen (RCYC & MBSC)
- George Pritchard (RCYC)
- Jessica Riordan (RStGYC)
The Team is supported by Team Mum Yvonne Durcan, and Team Coach Dara O’Shea.
The team will be in France for Bastille Day and will also experience what it is like to be in France as they compete in the World Cup Final!
On the sailing front they will compete against 200+ sailors from across Europe in one of the premier events of the European Optimist sailing calendar. The racing will take place on a lake and is planned to start on Monday.
