National Training Week 2024
The countdown is on, and we hope you’ve already signed up because this year’s National Training Week (NTW) will be epic!
Entry is now closed with over 120 sailors now coming to Dun Laoghaire
We’re excited to welcome everyone to the Royal St. George Yacht Club (RSGYC) for a few days packed with fun. A lot of effort goes into making NTW amazing, and we’d love for parents to get involved.

World-Class Coaches
To ensure sailors get the most out of their training time on the water, we’ve lined up some of the best coaches worldwide, including:
• Soren Laugesen – A fan favorite! Soren has been with us for every NTW so far. He’s a super-experienced international coach, having led Irish teams at international events for the past twenty years..
• Johnny Durcan & Seafra Guilfoyle – You’ve probably seen these lads in action with their 49er, but did you know they started in Optimists? With numerous national and European championship titles across multiple classes, they’re eager to share their expertise at NTW.
• Dara O’Shea – With loads of experience coaching top Optimist sailors, Dara led our IDT team to France this year. He’s coached teams to the World Championships, including two top-20 finishers in 2019!
… and these coaches will be supported by many more talented sailors for three days of coaching, followed by the Crosbie Cup and Halloween Regatta on Saturday, November 2nd.

National Training Week Dinner
Join us for the event dinner on Wednesday, October 30th. Don’t forget your sailor’s entry fee covers their meal.
Afterwards, a scarily good DJ will keep the party going with some spooky beats in the dungeons! Costumes optional.
Mum’s Lunch
We also have a fun Mum’s Lunch planned for Friday, November 1st, at 1:30 in the RSGYC dining room.
