Euromed 2016 Coaching & Regatta in Malta
The Optimist ISA national squad will not be running this winter, so it is down to individuals, clubs and groups of clubs to run the traditional winter training for their most promising juniors.
Euromed was the event the squad had retained in the last few years as a mid Winter warm weather regatta. It gave the opportunity to young sailors to validate the Autumn lessons, gain experience outside Ireland and enjoy effective better weather training and racing… Year on year it has allowed just that and young sailors have come back with improved skills and gained experience. In 2015, 200 sailors from 15 countries raced for the trophies and 2016 looks as promissing.
Thomas Chaix (former ISA squad coach) is setting the trip. It will be offered on a first come first served basis up to 8 sailors, however be aware it is an international event and probably not suitable if you have not qualified for the trials 2017 as a minimum.

Package Clinic + Event (recommended)
Budget 1800 all inclusive assuming 6 sailors at least
Departure on December 13th at 18.45 from Dublin Airport and return on December 22nd at 18.15
This package includes a 4 days clinic and the 4 days event. The budget is all inclusive (Accom, food, charter opti, entry fee, coach services & coach expenses)
Package Event only
Budget 1300 all inclusive assuming 8 sailors
Departure on December 17th at 18.45 from Dublin Airport and return on December 22nd at 18.15
This package gets you just on time for the first race on the 18th. The coach will complete the charter check in and registration on the 17th to ensure all is ready on the morning of the 18th. The budget is all inclusive (Accom, food, charter opti, entry fee, coach services & coach expenses)
