IODAI Munster Weekend Training Camp Kinsale Yacht Club.
Twenty one sailors from five clubs around Munster attended a very successful training camp with lead coach Thomas Chaix, last weekend.
Thomas was assisted well known sailor and coach George Kennefick and Dara O’Shea of Kinsale Yacht Club, who has worked very well with Thomas over the summer.
Special thanks to Daire Cournane and Adam D’Arcy, who volunteered their oppey skills, helping out the younger sailors with rigging and boat set up.
Fantastic sailing conditions with blue skies, sunshine and breeze up to 14 Knots on Saturday meant that sailors forgot about the chilly breeze and concentrated on developing their sailing skills under the expert tuition of their coaches.
After debrief, pizza and hot chocolate, was the perfect finish to day one.
Little or no wind on Sunday meant that sailors had a short time on the water and instead all could recap on their Saturday by means of a video presentation by Thomas, George and Dara.
All sailors were very attentive and asked lots of questions.
With a quick hot chocolate, notebooks full and boats packed, all headed home after a very successful weekend.
