Ulster Championships
Optimists return to Ulster at Stunning East Antrim Boat Club.
This weekend 57 boats headed north to Larne for the first Ulster Championship in Ulster in over 5 years supported by a strong local group of dedicated club members.
The fleet will return again to the North next April for the Irish Sailing Youth Pathway at Ballyholme Yacht Club.
The event took place in glorious sunshine and light to medium winds. The race committee delivered 6 races over the two days in Lough Larne. With no wind on Saturday the fleet had to ‘hang out’ for wind which delivered two good races on day 1. Sunday delivered 4 excellent races with a mix of winners in both fleets during the day.
