Last weekend (26th/27th) saw the Optimist Ulster Championships return to Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club after a great event there in 2013. There were 24 entries in the Regatta fleet. Taking part in the regatta fleet is an important start to any Optimist sailor’s career. Well done to all our sailors in the fleet
The aim of the Regatta Fleet is to help sailors achieve the necessary skills required to compete in a sailing race. The 2011 regatta fleet national championships have just been completed in HYC in super weather conditions. A mixture of light winds, sunshine and then rain & wind enabled the fleet to complete 12 races.
