How do I get on the U 12 squad
The U 12 squad is made up of sailors U 12 who qualify for the trials & participate in the trials each year. Thus for 2015 if your child was in the Top 40 Juniors last season and if they sail in the trials, they will automatically get a place on the U 12 squad. The squad has 1-2 training sessions before they all travel to the British Nationals. Parents travel with the U 12 squad & the squad bring their own boats. So if your thinking about 2016 your child will need to sail in Junior fleet this coming season for at least 2 regional events & the nationals to get a ranking. Then if they have sailed well & are placed in the top 40 Juniors at the end of 2015 season rankings they will make the U 12 squad for 2016.
