IODAI Sprint Series 2024

IODAI is really pleased to introduce our much anticipated Sprint Series.

The Sprint Series will be a support to club winter training programs by giving sailors access to competition through the colder months.

While the Series is open to all main fleet sailors its is tailored at Gold and Silver fleet sailors looking to participate in the IS Youth Nationals in April.

Racing will take place over one day with a first gun later than usual to facilitate people traveling from around the country. Four races are scheduled on each day and you can read more in the Notice of Race which has now been published.

We are kicking off in RCYC who are putting on a separate day of RCYC Optimist training, but opening it up to all, on the following day for those that wish to avail of it. We hope that this will be nice tie in with other clubs involved in the future as the series establishes itself.

Series will be made of 3 days of racing as followed :

Royal Cork Yacht Club – 20th January
National Yacht Club – 24th February
Lough Derg Yacht Club – 23rd March
